Munich, Germany

The Bundeswehr University Munich (UniBwM) has about 3700 registered students and is open to commissioning-track cadets. The academic year is structured into trimesters: Fall trimester: October 1st to December 31st. Winter trimester: January 1st to March 31st. Spring trimester: April 1st to June 30th. Norwich students typically participate in either the Fall or Spring trimester. In preparation for study at UniBwM, Norwich students take a one-month intensive German program immediately prior to beginning the trimester. Coursework is primarily taught in German.

Students have their own dormitory rooms and bathrooms are shared. Every floor has a communal kitchen and leisure space. Students either eat at the cafeteria on campus (serving meals three times per day Monday through Friday for about 3€ per meal) or they may purchase food at a grocery store and prepare their own meal at their dormitories. The university provides a fitness center, swimming pool, sauna, and sports fields. International students receive a free-of-charge sports membership card that allows them to participate in activities on campus. The university is equipped with a Computer Center, Library, Media Center, and a grocery store on campus. International students are also paired with a German student to help them adapt to the university during the first few weeks of the trimester.
